Stochastic Life

This is a blog by a Western Buddhist.

I also talk about digital culture and it's relationship to modern spirituality, specifically (but not limited to) modern Western Buddhism. I post about music too, I can't help it. I exclusively post original content. I always accept questions and comments.

I also accept submissions, either as a guest spot or for very long questions.

I get a lot of personal questions, those will always be answered privately unless permission is granted otherwise.

Formated to be iPad/etc friendly.

What is your favorite thing about Buddhism?

Mine would be how seamlessly it compliments the logical mind. Buddhism isn’t something you have to hack at in order for it to ‘fit’ into a logical and rational mind, it already does that. Once established, you can unfold it for greater insights into the depths of things not yet plumbed by science.

But yes, I especially value it’s status as a religion that is NOT opposed or incompatible with the rational mind and scientific inquiry. With a formal background in psychology, I’d suggest that it actually enhances it.
